Nice staff great receptionist. My favorite is tracy. the groups have no direction most of the time. Do love getting hot chocolate. The recovery coach Chris Scott really makes this place a source I like to utilize, he is a great help. Dr. Sunder just call her the candy man

I've been a patient here for years and have not experienced any of these negative things mentioned in other reviews. There are wonderful resources offered thru Lower Merion Counseling, RHD, that help people with a good attitude to improve the quality of life!!! My experience has been amazing, truly! I love my therapists and my psychiatrist. He works very hard to take good care and despite being spread pretty thin, there is still a nurturing sentiment during our appt. And my medication needs are always met. There is a shortage in the area of Psychiatrists who take welfare insurance, So each one has a very full case load. And also are needed in other local facilities as well. That is something to consider when making appointments... to plan far in advance. You will find that the challenge of making an emergency Psychiatry appt, is not a unique challenge to RHD/Lower Merion Counseling... Tis a widespread struggle at places that offer these resources, to see a Psychiatrist, bc Not very many will accept the welfare insurance that is accepted at RHD. However, there ARE several Medical Assistants available here... For prescription refills, you want to talk to the Medical Assistant, in the meantime of the Psychiatry appointment. They would not leave someone hanging in wait of a prescription refill. The staff at Lower Merion counseling is astoudingly kind, considerate, compassionate, especially considering the clientele there... I have witnessed several fiascos due to patients in midst of temper tantrun, that staff handled very well... Often in the field of mental health and addiction, we (patients) tend to dwell in negativity. So I suppose I ought not to be surprised by these whiny reviews haha. Dont let the People Complaining deter you. it isn't always easy... But hey, I am grateful it even exists! Something to consider while reading the reviews (And this applies to other internet reviews as well) is that a lot of people are prone to report a problem, more so than to report that all went well and is peachy keen. All this negativity is not so much a reflection of the facility & staff as it is a show of character in the person who wrote the review... Tis why I made a point to make a review. To express some of my gratitude for the services at RHD. And to shine some ppsitive light on the situation for others seeking help... RHD has helped me change my life in the best ways possible and staff continue to encourage me while I grow! I look forward to my appts here. Thank you guys so much - RHD staff- for all you do!!! You are appreciated

I like this place. The reception staff are very friendly, although I have had a few appointments mysteriously lost in their computer system. Small stuff if you go there often for counseling. I see a counselor named Gary. He's easily the most professional counselour I have ever been in contact with. He'll actually call me at home to see how I am and make sure I'm scheduled correctly in the system. He's very down to earth and I really can't say enough nice things about him. He's a gentleman and he's very polite, understanding, articulate, and even very funny at times. The Psychiatric doctors come and go. I have had a few here who have been lively, knowledgable, sensible, and pleasant. They don't tend to stay in place for very long. Some of the really excellent people end up doing private practices closer to their homes.
